There are many prayers and prayer poems that speak beautifully to the Lady, asking for her presence and thanking her for all that She has done for us. However, it is still better to talk to her from the heart, even if the heart does not ring poetic. What mother will only listen to her children if they rhyme?
Here, then, are some examples, just for the pleasure of reading them.
A PRAYER
Give us wisdom to see your path,
And the strength to prevail in the darkest hour.
We thank you for the joys we have,
And for the chance you have given us to prove
Ourselves in adversity as well as happiness.
May We Thrive.
Pray to the Moon
When She is Round
Good luck to you
Will then abound
CHILD'S BEDTIME PRAYER
Now I lay me down to rest
Goddess guard my little nest
Like the wee bird in the tree
Lovely Goddess, care for me.
Above, below and round about
Keep all evil spirits out
Bless those I love, and bless me too.
Dearest Goddess, I love you!
GRACE
BLESSING FOR FOOD
O Lady of the Harvest, bounteous Cerridwen,
For the meat and bread that sustain us,
And the wine that brings us joy,
We thank you and promise you,
That we will never use the strength derived from your gifts,
To willfully harm your creatures or violate your laws.
Blessed Be.
BLESSING SONG
(Adapted from Angie Remedi)
May you walk in beauty
All your lifetime long
May you speak with wisdom and sing
Their lovely song
May you find your power in
Love's Joyous embrace
May the Lord and Lady bless you
All your days.
LADY WEAVE YOUR CIRCLE
Lady weave your Circle tight
Spin a web of glowing light
Earth and air Fire and water
Bind us to you
CIRCLES
Cho. - And around and around, and around turns the Good Earth
All things must change as the seasons go by
We are the children of the Lord and the Lady
Whose mysteries we know, but we never know why
In days gone by, when the world was much younger,
Men wondered at Spring, born of Winter's cold night
Wondered at the gaze of the moon and the sunlight
Saw there the Lady and Lord of all life
(chorus)
Through Flanders, and Wales, and the green hills of Ireland,
In the Kingdoms of England, and Scotland, and Spain,
Circles grew up all along the wide coastline
To work for the land with the sun and the rain
(chorus)
Circles for healing, and working the weather,
Circles for knowing the moon and the sun,
Circles for praising the Lord and the Lady,
Circles for dancing the dance never done.
(chorus)
And we, who reach out for the stars in the heavens,
Turning our eyes from the mantles and groves,
Still live in the love of the Lord and the Lady,
The greater the Circle, the more the Love grows!
(chorus)
WE ALL COME FROM THE GODDESS
We all come from the Goddess
And to Her we shall return
Like a drop of rain
Flowing to the ocean
We all come from the Dark Lord
And to Him we shall return
Like a leaf unfolding
Opening to new life
HOOF AND HORN
Hoof and horn Hoof and horn
All that dies shall be reborn
Vine and grain Vine and grain
All that falls shall rise again.
GATHER YE IN
(Words by Lady Phoenix and Lord Garth)
We are the menhirs of our modern age.
We seek the wisdom of the ancient sage.
Knowledge of old, Mysteries untold,
Graven on our souls.

Which is good enough for me.

GODDESS LOVES ME
Goddess loves me this I know,
Because she came and told me so.
Little ones to her belong,
She gave them birth and makes them strong.
Yes, Goddess loves me,
Yes, Goddess loves me,
Yes, Goddess loves me,
She came and told me so...

SPRING RUSHIN' IN
Magic in the air, life-born
Seed in the earth, bud on the vine, Her time,
Life born
Spring rushin' in rushin' in rushin' in.
Fire in the mist slow rain
Grass on the hills, flowers in the fields, sweet smell,
Slow rain
Spring rushin' in rushin' in rushin' in
Still is the air, warm wind
Whisper at the dawn, sun on the run, clear skies,
Warm wind
Spring rushin' in rushin' in rushin' in
Laughter in the trees, hush now
Fairies underfoot, tiny as can be, don't look
Hush now
Spring rushin' in rushin' in rushin' in.

Sing me a Wiccan song
Of Lady and of Lord,
Of candles, censer, water, salt;
Athame and of sword.
For only in a Wiccan song
Can Gods be true adored.
Sing me a Wiccan song,
Of Winter, Summer, Fall and Spring,
Of Seasons passing joyfully,
Their praises we do sing.
For only in a Wiccan song
Can we with Nature ring.

WITHIN THE CIRCLE
I wandered lost, with no direction
And every turn I took was wrong
Until I stood within the Circle
And found the place where I belong
I found the Moon to light the darkest night
I found the Sun to warm the day
I saw the Goddess and the God
And found their love to light my way.

WE ARE THE PAGANFOLK
CHORUS: We are the paganfolk, we
That modern religions down-rate.
But we will out-last you, you see
And we need do nothing but wait.
Your churches will fare as they must
The day may be far or be near.
But when your cathedrals go dust
The paganfolk still will be here.
You've burned us and hanged us and pressed
And tortured with thumbscrew and rack
Rejoiced when your victims confessed
To practices wicked and black.
But still we survived as She did
Your lies and your hate were in vain.
And here is where we'll always be
As sure as the sunshine and rain... for
CHORUS
You've plundered our land and our seas
And slaughtered our brothers in fur.
You've stripped Mother Earth of her trees
And never paid homage to Her.
You curse us and mock us in fear
Compared to your numbers we're few.
But, oh, we will always be here
Protecting our Mother from you.
Deny we exist if you will
Deny She exists if you can!
Her children will worship her still
As we did long before you began.
We won't try to conquer or burn
We don't need your deaths to go on.
We'll work and we'll study and learn
And be here long after you're gone... singing
CHORUS

WITCH'S AMAZING GRACE
Amazing grace, how sweet the Earth
That bore a witch by me
I once was burned, now I survive
Was hanged and now I sing.
'Twas grace that drew down the Moon
And grace that raised the seas
The magic in the people's will
Will set our Mother free.
We face the east and breathe the winds
That move across the earth
From gentle breeze to hurricane
Our breath will bring forth change.
Turn t'wards the south and feel the fire
That burns in you and me
The spirit's flame will rise again
And burn eternally.
We greet the west, our souls awash
In tides of primal birth
Our tears and blood, our pain and love
Will cleanse and heal the earth.
Reach into north and know your roots
Down deep ancestral caves
We find the wisdom of the Crone
Of circles we are made.
Amazing grace, how sweet the Earth
That bore Witches like we
We once were burned, now we survive
Were hanged and now we sing.
Goddess bless, so more it be
Our magic spirals on
Merry meet and merry part
And merry meet again.

HORNED ONE
Horned one, lover, son
Leaper in the corn
Deep in the mother
Die and be reborn.
