CHAPTER XI
Sabbat Rituals
Sabbat rituals are the most personal part of our Tradition. In most cases, each ritual is unique and is crafted by the person(s) officiating for that ritual. More will be included in the future; this one is included here to give the general idea.
YULE 1988
Everyone is brought into Circle, undrawn, and lights are extinguished.
HP: The Sun is dead; His light is gone from us on this, the darkest day of the year. Even so, we are left with the promise of new life. And again, as always, our Lady fulfills this promise.
(HPs lights old flame, Goddess, and God candles)
HPs: The darkness of the season is now broken. Life has again been born among us. Blessed Be!
HP draws Circle & invokes Quarters (N-G), but quarter candles remain unlit.
HPs: The presence of the noble Goddess extends everywhere
Throughout the many strange, magical, and beautiful worlds
To all places of wilderness, enchantment, and freedom.
(HPs lights North candle, and says:)
The Lady is awesome. The powers of death bow before Her.
(HPs hands the old flame to the person nearest the East, who lights the East candle and says:)
Our Goddess is a Lady of Joy. The winds are Her servants.
(The old flame is handed to the person nearest the South, who lights the South candle and says:)
Our Goddess is a Goddess of Love. At Her blessing and desire the Sun brings forth life anew.
(The old flame is handed to the person nearest the West, who lights the West candle and says:
The seas are the domains of our serene Lady; The mysteries of the depths are Hers alone.
(HPs takes the old flame again, lights the Center candle, and says:)
The Circle is sealed, and all herein Are totally and completely apart from the outside world That we may glorify the Lord and Lady whom we adore. Blessed Be!
(HPs leads the group in repeating:)
HPs: In this, the season of the White Goddess, Do we celebrate the Festival of Yule: The rebirth of the Sun And of life for the coming year.
HP:
(Singing, Dancing, Magick, etc.)
(Cakes and Wine)
(Coveners extinguish quarter candles, starting with Center, followed by HP taking Circle down.)
This is the outline I worked up for Sunday's Lughnassad/New Moon ritual. We have never done a New Moon online so I thought I'd work the two together. Everyone is supposed to eat a piece of fruit and save the seed. They are going to bring that seed with them Sun. and plant it to represent a new goal, growth, venture etc. The idea being a seed from the first harvest to be planted for a new growth.
We try to keep online short so it doesn't run into alot of money so thats why things are short and to the point.
Sacred King, giver of riches since before time began
bestow upon us thy strength, laughter and power!
The circle is cast and we are between the worlds, beyond the borders of time, where night and day, birth and death, joy and sorrow, meet as one.
The Year Wheel turns and bounty comes
As we give thanks for this season, for the harvest begun,
We have nothing to give that is not already thine
Yet we give our love
This offering and sacrifice
Our seed from the first harvest to grow,
Ourselves to grow, change, attain and accomplish the goals we present here..
Here each person will state the goal, growth etc. they wish to work towards.
Friends I now bid you see the seed growing laying the roots deep within maturing as you reach your goal flourishing as you reap the benifits feel the energy come thru you focus the energy to the seed.
On the count of three release that energy into the seed, on four plant the seed with your goal into the Earth yyou brought with you.
One Two Three Pause Four.
Powers of the East, blow clean and pure we thank ye
South, lands of warmth, West, flowing tides of blue, North, meadows and forests
Most of this came from books I have and I shorted and changed some. The part about the Seeds I wrote myself.
